Final Thoughts from Third Grade

Dear 3rd Graders,  Families, and Friends,

Thank you so much for participating in our class blog this year! This project would not have been successful without you. We look forward to posting the students' summer blog paragraphs about books they are reading and trips they are taking! Please continue to check in with us over the summer! Look for a post from Mrs. McLaughlin and Ms. Alder soon!

The students created the word cloud below after making lists of words they felt described their year in third grade. It has been such a fun year, and we wish you all a wonderful summer!

Love,
Ms. Alder and Mrs. McLaughlin

  1. Dear Mrs. McLaughlin and Ms. Alder,

    Sniff...sniff...

Thank you both for being such amazing Third Grade Teachers! You both have positively bonded with, encouraged, and supported the students this year. You are definitely memorable teachers!

I personally have enjoyed reading and responding to the many blogs posts the students have created. I am looking forward to continuing this project over the summer, as well as, during subsequent school years. Thank you for being the school's technological pioneers! (Make sure you include this on your performance review! )

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Hudgens

Dear Third Graders (wait, it's 4:30 p.m. and the school year is OVER; let me revise my salutation).........DEAR FOURTH GRADERS!!!! Yaaayy, you made it!,

You all have done an amazing job this school year. Enjoy your summer break, because you have absolutely earned it. The word cloud you created is very visually appealing, as well as, extremely descriptive. Funny enough, I, as Bailey's Mom felt many of the emotions you all described. I wish you all the best and I look forward to reading your summer blog posts.

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Hudgens

    1. Dear Mrs. Hudgens,
Thank you so much for your kind words! It has been such a fun year with this group of students and parents! We were so blessed to have such a great group to help us pioneer this exciting new project. It would not have been possible without all of the support from both parents and students. We are looking forward to expanding it even more next year (hopefully across grade levels!).

And you are right, these 3rd graders have done an amazing job this school year! They are such hard workers and deserve a relaxing summer break! Though I do hope to see some summer writing on our blog along the way!

      Happy summer, everyone!
      Mrs. McLaughlin

    2. You're welcome! I mean every word!

I think that expansion to other grades is a great idea. If it does, I'm sure you'll be selected as the resident staff trainer. ;-)

Even though we will be enjoying our summer break, we will be sure to be active participants in the blog.

Thank you, and enjoy your summer too!
